Why did you pursue a career in law?

Simeon specialises in financial crime and representing professionals and other individuals often in the public eye accused of criminal offences. He is well known in the field of “crisis management” and is highly regarded amongst his peers, frequently receiving referrals from previous clients and other lawyers alike.

Financial Crime
Simeon leads the firm’s White-collar and Financial Crime Department. He rejoined Hine Solicitors after practising at a specialist financial crime and reputation management firm in the City of London. He is experienced in the full spectrum of financial cases, such as Account Freezing Order matters, Forfeiture proceedings and Cash Seizure applications. He has acted for both domestic and international companies as well as high net worth individuals.
Simeon is known for tenaciously fighting his clients’ cases and his ability to advise and act in complicated and fast-paced matters which are often of high value. He recently represented an international company in an Account Freezing Order case brought by the National Crime Agency, where £22 million was frozen in a bank account. This case is widely considered to be the highest value contested Account Freezing Order case heard in England and Wales.

General Crime
Having acted for professionals and other high profile individuals, Simeon is well aware of the potential career or reputation damaging consequences that criminal investigations and prosecutions can bring. He is often instructed in the early stages of an investigation and works hard to bring an end matters as quickly as possible and avoiding a prosecution when circumstances allow, to alleviate the stress of a criminal accusation for his clients and also limit any potential damage to their reputation.
He is very experienced in representing individuals facing all types of criminal offences, and in particular allegations of violence, involvement with drugs and sexual offences.

Motoring offences
Simeon has extensive knowledge of all aspects of motoring offences and receives numerous recommendations from previous clients. He regularly appears in Court representing people accused of drink driving, speeding and careless or dangerous driving.
For those who face losing their licence, he is particularly alert to the fact that for many the ability to drive is central to the livelihood and existence.
