About Us

Hine Solicitors has provided private client legal advice from local offices across England since 2001, with clear costs and plain explanations.

In 2001, Tony Hine and Alison Glover set up the practice in a small Buckinghamshire town.

The reputation grew through personal recommendation, and over the years since we have expanded in size and in the range of legal services we offer, now working from a network of local offices across England.

New offices are not opened lightly. We look for places where we can make a genuine contribution to the community, rather than simply extending our reach. Growth for its own sake is not the aim.

How we work with you

We want to put you back in control of a situation by helping you make the right legal choices, explained in a way that makes sense. As the firm has grown we have kept the close family feel and the values it started with. We still see our people as the reason for that growth rather than any particular process or system.

Every member of the team, from new trainees through to the most experienced partners, works to the same standard. You should get the same level of care whether your case is straightforward or complicated, whichever office you deal with.

We keep our understanding of legal practice current and hold a number of independent accreditations, which you can read about on our accreditations page. These are checked by outside bodies rather than awarded on our own say so, which is why we think they are worth mentioning rather than leaving unsaid.

Regulated, and led by our partners

Hine Solicitors is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Every office holds its own SRA number so you can check our standing before you instruct us. The firm is led by a group of partners, including founders Tony Hine and Alison Glover, who set the direction the practice has followed since 2001.

Meet the people behind the advice

Our team includes solicitors, legal executives and support staff across our offices, each with their own specialisms. That focus is deliberate. A solicitor who deals with one type of case day in and day out tends to spot the detail that matters more quickly than someone covering several areas at once. You can search our people by service or by location to find the right person for your situation, or simply get in touch and tell us what you need.

Common questions

e were founded in 2001 and have grown since through recommendation and reputation.

That happens more often than you might think, for example a divorce that also involves selling a property. When it does, we bring the right people together on your case rather than leaving you to manage separate solicitors yourself.

We cover family law, wills, probate and powers of attorney, commercial and residential conveyancing, employment, disputes, motoring offences, military law, crime and prison law, personal injury and white collar and financial crime. Our services page sets out each one in more detail.

We explain our charges before we start any work and keep you updated as your matter progresses, so you always know where you stand. Full detail is on our fees page.
