Why did you pursue a career in law?

I have had a strong interest in criminal defence, the criminal justice system and prison reform from a very young age while at school which grew with my education and experience in criminal law.

What do you like best about your job?

Advocacy - I most enjoy assisting clients at court by putting forward the best case for them, for example advancing a bail application when someone appears at court in custody, advancing their defence at trial or putting forward strong mitigation at sentencing. I also enjoy drafting strong written representations, for example to have proceedings withdrawn.
